Course Overview

This lesson introduces participants to The Educational Interpreter Online (TEIO) program, a series of courses which will give any interpreter the tools they need to interpret in educational settings. This 30-minute preview of the program, while short in length, primes participants on the critical nature of interpreting for educational settings. In this course, students will discover the role of interpreters in facilitating language access within schools, why their role is crucial, and investigate key laws governing language access within the United States. Featuring engaging interactions, captivating images and videos, and an interview with the author of Introduction to Educational Interpreting and Translation, this course will demonstrate to educational interpreters their importance, and their need to continue developing their practical interpreting skills that the entirety of the TEIO program will address.

Course length: 0.5 hours

Course access period: 60 days from enrollment

Course completion requirements: Pass one exit test (score of 70% or above).

Certificate: Downloadable certificate available immediately upon passing the exit test.
